Class F Fly Ash	Class C Fly Ash
Typically produced from burning anthracite or bituminous coal. It contains a higher percentage of silica, alumina, and iron oxide. Classified as a pozzolan, meaning it reacts with calcium hydroxide in the presence of water to form cementitious compounds.	Produced from burning lignite or sub-bituminous coal. Contains a higher percentage of calcium oxide in addition to silica, alumina, and iron oxide. Exhibits both pozzolanic and self-cementing properties due to its higher calcium content.
